I love this bookplate because the etching is beautiful but confusing. What’s the owl looking at — a plow? Why is the plow on a beach? William Andrews Clark Jr. was the financier who founded the LA Philharmonic. He also founded the cool but not very well known Clark Library in Los Angeles.
